Kennedy Krieger's community programs are family focused and maximize the potential of each child within their own home and community environments. Through these programs, Kennedy Krieger adapts services to the unique needs of children with disabilities and their families to help them adjust to the routines of everyday living in their home, schools and community settings. Providing direct treatment and acting as advocates for the children and families they serve, the interdisciplinary professionals at Kennedy Krieger help children achieve their potential and to access and benefit from community resources.
The Maryland Center for Developmental Disabilities at Kennedy Krieger Institute offers an even wider range of community-oriented programs, projects, and services committed to increasing awareness and breaking down barriers in society, allowing all individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve their potential in work, school, and community life.
