At Kennedy Krieger, we value the importance of patient and family-centered care, which includes understanding and respecting your family’s unique needs and preferences, partnering with you as members of the care team, and providing individualized support.
Our Patient and Family Experience team is here to listen, advocate, and ensure that you and your family feels appreciated, supported, and cared for—whether you’re here for a single appointment or staying with us long-term.
To ensure your visit or stay is as comfortable and supportive as possible, we offer the following services:
- Advocate for you: We help you understand your options, facilitate communication with your care team, and ensure your voice is heard. Our patient advocates are non-medical, neutral, and impartial liaisons who support open communication and provide assistance in making informed decisions about healthcare.
- Provide needed amenities: Access to toiletries, comfort items, donated supplies, and special snacks or meals to make your stay more comfortable.
- Create opportunities for you to connect: Collaborate with our Engagement Team to share donated items, create meaningful experiences, and participate in diverse activities, events, and programs that offer opportunities for families to connect.
- Offer accommodations: We provide reasonable accommodation for patients, families, and visitors to ensure accessibility to facilities, services, and equipment. If you require accommodation or support related to hearing, speech, cognition, vision, physical access, or other needs, please contact the Patient Experience department at 443-923-3804.
