Who We Are
The STRONG Brains and Bodies program is a comprehensive, family‑centered initiative designed to advance care and support for children diagnosed with brain tumors and their family members. Our interdisciplinary team at Kennedy Krieger Institute works alongside your Johns Hopkins Medicine oncology team. We deliver integrated rehabilitative care and intervention beginning early in your child’s journey to proactively optimize cognitive, physical, emotional and functional well-being.
Who We Serve
Our program serves individuals with primary brain tumors, from infancy to young adulthood. We work with patients and families from diagnosis through treatment and into long‑term survivorship. We care for every child and support every family.
Our Approach
Our approach integrates individualized, early and ongoing care of cognitive and physical abilities. STRONG is designed to strengthen the brain, increase resilience, enhance development, and improve quality of life.
With compassion and unwavering support, we stand beside every child and family while helping them through the challenges of diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. Our STRONG team meets regularly to think about all of your child's needs, and we coordinate to offer holistic, family-centered care. Together, we grow STRONGer.

Why It Matters
Children with brain tumors can face unique cognitive, physical, and emotional challenges. Our proactive, individualized, and multidisciplinary program identifies and treats these challenges early on, with the goal of reducing the short- and long-term impacts of brain tumors and associated treatment.
