Vanessa Camelo Lopez is a clinical doctoral intern at the Pediatric Developmental Clinic (PDD) at Kennedy Krieger Institute and is a graduate student in the Clinical Psychology program at Howard University. Her clinical work centers on supporting children with neurodevelopmental disorders, mood disorders, and trauma-related difficulties. She emphasizes strengthening parent–child relationships as a core component of treatment with children. A central focus of her work is providing culturally responsive and linguistically sensitive care to Latino families, ensuring that treatment approaches are both empirically grounded and personally meaningful to each client. Guided by a client-centered and evidence-based philosophy, she strives to foster resilience and empower children and their families toward lasting well-being. She hopes to continue making a positive impact on children’s developmental trajectories to help them achieve the best possible prognosis and quality of life.
