The Department of Neuropsychology at Kennedy Krieger Institute announces three openings for a postdoctoral residency in Pediatric Neuropsychology beginning September 1, 2024.

The residency program is designed to provide postdoctoral training experiences in accordance with the Houston Conference guidelines, and prepare the candidate to meet eligibility requirements for the ABPP Diploma in Clinical Neuropsychology through ABCN. The Residency Program at Kennedy Krieger is a participating member of the Association of Postdoctoral Programs in Clinical Neuropsychology (APPCN).

The program offers clinical training experiences with a wide range of patient populations from birth through young adulthood. Residents obtain major training experiences in diverse settings throughout the Institute, including outpatient specialty clinics, rehabilitation continuum of care, and other interdisciplinary settings including Kennedy Krieger School and the Center for Autism Services, Science and Innovation (CASSI™, formerly known as the Center for Autism and Related Disorders, or CARD). Minor rotations are available in clinical programs through Kennedy Krieger Institute and the Johns Hopkins Hospital (e.g., spina bifida, brain injury rehabilitation, cerebral palsy, NICU follow-up, adult neuropsychology). Research opportunities are available throughout the Institute and via the Neuropsychology Research Lab. The positions are presently supported by a Maternal and Child Health Bureau Training Grant.

Training begins September 1, 2024. The residency in neuropsychology is for a two-year period on a full-time basis. Candidates must have completed all requirements for their doctoral degree prior to beginning the residency program. Only graduates of APA/CPA-accredited doctoral programs and APA/CPA-accredited doctoral internships will be considered. Candidates should have established clinical and research interests in neuropsychology. Residents receive appointments through the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. The current stipend for first year residents (PGYI) is $54,840, which includes eight holidays, three weeks of vacation and one week of professional/conference time per year. Health insurance is available.

Deadline for receipt of all application materials is December 18, 2023. The Neuropsychology Residency Program will be participating in the APPCN Resident Matching Program. Details about the Matching Program can be obtained at the APPCN website. Please note that all applicants for this position must register with the National Matching Service.
