On January 25, 2023, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) implemented a new Policy for Data Management and Sharing (DMS; NOT-OD-21-013). The policy applies to new and competing proposals or renewals that generate scientific data and requires investigators to submit a detailed DMS plan outlining how generated data will be stored, protected and shared.
