Enzo was six weeks old the night his mom, Jacqui, lifted him out of his car seat and knew something was wrong. His lips were blue. His body was cold. His dad started CPR while they waited for the ambulance.
That night changed everything for the family. Enzo spent the next 30 days in the hospital and he required emergency spinal cord fusion surgery.
When the surgery was over, there was no pediatric rehabilitation program near their home in North Carolina equipped for what Enzo needed. Thankfully, one place was equipped. His doctors recommended Kennedy Krieger, and now Enzo's family brings him to Baltimore to get their son the care he needs.
Today, Enzo is five years old. He loves Pete the Cat books, Spider-Man and Paw Patrol. He adores farm animals. His personality, creativity, and pretend play are blossoming.
