Each disability inclusion ambassador:

  • Is a graduate of the Kennedy Krieger Institute Faith Community Learning Collaborative (FCLC) 2-day in-person training that is designed to equip faith leaders with the necessary knowledge, skills, and resources to foster disability inclusion and a sense of belonging and community participation that improves the quality of life, health, and well-being of people with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities and their families.
  • Serves as a Disability Inclusion Ambassador within their faith community and facilitate inclusive practices in their faith communities.

The Maryland Governor honored the FCLC Disability Inclusion Ambassadors with certificates of appreciation for their commitment and dedication to promoting disability inclusion in Maryland faith communities. Dr. Mirian Ofonedu was issued a Governor’s Citation for her leadership in providing comprehensive disability inclusion training for faith leaders.
