We’re delighted to share a few updates on the programs and initiatives WIN has proudly supported, along with a glimpse of what’s ahead this season.
For 15 years, the women of WIN have rolled up their sleeves, given their time, and poured their hearts into volunteer work, fundraising and advocacy that changes lives at Kennedy Krieger Institute. This fall, that legacy continues—and we need your involvement more than ever—to keep these efforts strong, expand our reach, and create even greater impact for the children and families we serve.
You can now find all of our upcoming events and volunteer opportunities in one place on our website. From treasured volunteer shifts in the Child Life and Recreational Therapy departments to inspiring gatherings like our speaker series and the new Harvesting Hope event at CeCe’s on November 6, there’s something for everyone to enjoy and support.
Whether you’re new, have been with us from the beginning, or are ready to jump back in, we invite you to be part of it all. Attend an event, lend your time, and help us fund the work that matters most.
We are so grateful for the passion and generosity this community has shown over the years. We can’t wait to see you this season and make an even greater impact together.
With warm appreciation,
Katie Love and Karla Garcia Aguirre

Even after the celebrations end, the impact of WIN-supported events continues to make a difference. Here are a few updates on programs your support has helped make possible.
Expanding Mental Health Care for 90 more patients each week
Thanks to WIN support, the Psychiatric Social Work Post-Master’s Fellowship is expanding access to mental health care at Kennedy Krieger. Now in its second year, five new Fellows will join the program. Each fellow will see up to 18 patients a week, increasing the program’s capacity by 90 patients every week and allowing hundreds more individuals each year to receive specialized care.
Sibshops: Where Siblings Find Understanding and Support

Because of your generosity at Barrels & Bonfires, children who have siblings facing challenges like autism, spina bifida, and brain injury recovery now have a place that’s just for them.
Through two Sibshops hosted this year, these children have connected with peers who truly understand, shared their experiences, and learned coping strategies—all while having fun with games like musical chairs and Simon Says.
Your support ensures these siblings feel seen, heard, and supported in a safe, welcoming environment.
Book Vending Machine: Opening Worlds for Young Patients
The new Book Vending Machine at Kennedy Krieger—purchased with funds raised at Fall Fête—is about to open, giving patients free access to books that inspire hope, spark creativity, and bring comfort during treatment.
Thanks to your support through WIN, children and families will have a special resource to brighten their days and support their emotional well-being.
