Zena Ebrahim is a sixth-year Counseling Psychology PhD student and intern in the Pediatric Psychology Consultation Program at Kennedy Kreiger Institute. Ebrahim is committed to helping underserved and adversity-exposed children flourish, despite the systems of oppression that work against them. In her work, she centers social determinants of health and recognize that what’s often labeled as dysfunction is rooted in the social, historical and cultural contexts of our patients’ lives. Through integrative, prevention-focused care, Ebrahim strives not only to alleviate distress, but to foster long-term flourishing by partnering with families to develop sustainable, context-sensitive tools that build on their strengths and resilience.
