boy stretchingThe Goldsmith Family Foundation has granted Kennedy Krieger $5,000 to bring video modeling—an evidence-supported intervention that uses videos to provide visual models of  targeted behaviors or skills—to the Institute’s Lower/Middle School.  This contribution will allow the Institute to secure the technology equipment necessary to implement video modeling in the school, which will offer an effective and developmentally appropriate way of engaging students and improving their fitness abilities, health levels, and academic successes.  Video modeling is especially useful in helping students who have learning differences, behavioral issues, or physical disabilities, as it increases student understanding of desired behaviors and increases participation in physical education activities—helping them to improve upon their physical fitness levels and utilize excess energy so that they can better focus on academic endeavors.
