The Excellence in Mentorship for Unity, Resilience, and Growth (EMURG) in Health Leaders 12-Month Fellowship Program provides leadership experiences in the federal government which may include public health research and the development of evidence-informed policies and practices.

Purpose of the EMURG Fellowship

The fellowship aims to provide educational and professional development opportunities for graduate-level scholars in the federal leadership workforce who are interested in promoting public health, mental health, maternal and child health, and developing policies to promote health for all citizens within the federal government. The overarching goal of the EMURG Fellowship is to provide leadership experiences in the federal government which may include public health research and the development of evidence-informed policies and practices.

The 12-month (full-time/40 hours per week) fellowship program is funded by the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health. Fellows may also develop professional leadership skills in the public health field.
