family of fourThe Hearst Foundation is supporting Kennedy Krieger’s capital campaign with a $125,000 grant, playing an important role in allowing the Institute to construct a new building adjacent to its outpatient center in East Baltimore. This state-of-the-art facility will afford an incredible opportunity for the Institute to expand its programs to help meet the enormous need for services and will provide children with comprehensive outpatient programs and new approaches--integrating all components of developmental health--in one location.  Kennedy Krieger’s existing outpatient physical rehabilitation center is designed to provide the best in care for those with motor and physical impairments, and this new building will extend that level of renowned service to those with cognitive, behavioral, and affective disorders. It will advance the Institute’s mission by bringing together clinicians, scientists, patients, and families to focus not just on treating these disabilities with both proven and innovative approaches but on working to ultimately find a cure.
