Motion Analysis Lab Member: Alex Vasquez, Ph.D.

Post-Doctoral Research Fellow

Alex VasquezAlex received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and his Ph.D. in biomedical engineering at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He currently works as a post-doctoral research fellow with Dr. Amy Bastian at the Kennedy Krieger Institute.

Alex’s research focuses on the changes in sensory perception while learning new walking patterns in both healthy people and people with motor disorders. He is currently investigating how split-belt walking adaptation affects perception of foot position. His studies investigate how learning a new walking pattern changes kinesthetic perception, or the sense of position and movement of the limbs.
