About
Dr. Jessica O’Brien is a licensed clinical psychologist and staff member in the Child and Family Therapy Clinic at Kennedy Krieger Institute.
Education
Dr. O’Brien received a Bachelor of Art degree in Psychology from Brown University and her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. She completed her doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Kennedy Krieger. Dr. O’Brien has been a licensed clinical psychologist in Maryland since 2020. She is Psypact Credentialed.
Dr. O’Brien utilizes evidence-based treatments with children, adolescents, young adults and their families to address a range of internalizing and externalizing behavioral concerns. Dr. O’Brien has extensive training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Functional Family Therapy (FFT), Parent Management Training (PMT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Dr. O’Brien sees patients at the Child and Family Therapy Clinic’s Columbia location and through telehealth.
