Who We Are:

Rehabilitation is a cornerstone of everything we do at Kennedy Krieger Institute. With a strong tradition of providing comprehensive rehabilitation services for children and young adults with disorders of the brain, spinal cord and musculoskeletal system, we offer patient care in a variety of settings. Whether your child needs intensive inpatient rehabilitation, coordinated outpatient therapy, or support at home or school, we strive to help our patients maximize their potential for recovery and successfully transition back to home, schoo, and community life.

This clinic provides comprehensive evaluation, treatment and follow-up for children and adolescents with a variety of functional deficits involving mobility, self-care, communication, and adjustment. A pediatric rehabilitation medicine physician evaluates the patient and develops a treatment program that may include spasticity treatment, physical and occupational therapy recommendations, splint or orthotic management, and other therapeutic and medical interventions to improve overall quality of life.

Our Team:

Our interdisciplinary rehabilitation programs are led by a pediatric rehabilitation medicine physician. Comprehensive care is enhanced through close collaborations with specialists in audiology, behavioral psychology, neuropsychology, speech pathology, nutrition, pain management, physical and occupational therapy, neurosurgery, and physical medicine. These collaborations allow our patients to see multiple specialists in one convenient location. All of our professionals have specialized education and training in working with children and families. Team members work with families and other caregivers to assist patients in achieving their optimum level of functioning.
