About
Dr. Rachel Reid is the assistant vice president/associate chief nursing officer, outpatient nursing and school-based programs at Kennedy Krieger Institute.
Education
Dr. Reid earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Hampton University before launching her career as a neonatal intensive care and pediatric specialty nurse. After several years at the bedside, she pursued graduate studies at Loyola University Chicago, where she completed a Master’s in Nursing and Health Systems Management and transitioned into nursing administration. Intent on strategic leadership in healthcare, Dr. Reid then enrolled in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at Rush University Chicago, concentrating on Systems Leadership and authoring a dissertation on discharge preparedness for children with special needs in inpatient pediatric settings. To expand her knowledge in organizational management, she later earned an MBA from American Public University.
