Dr. Nardos Bellete is a clinical psychologist in the Child and Family Therapy Clinic at Kennedy Krieger Institute. Dr. Bellete joined the clinical staff in 2023.
Education
Dr. Bellete received dual Bachelor of Arts degrees from University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). She continued her education, obtaining a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University Maryland, and doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. She completed her internship training at Syracuse VA Medical Center and her postdoctoral training at Kennedy Krieger Institute/The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in the Child and Family Therapy Clinic.
Dr. Bellete has been a licensed psychologist in Maryland since 2023. She also holds an authorization to practice interjurisdictional telepsychology through the PSYPACT Commission. Dr. Bellete works out of the clinic's Columbia location and also conducts therapy via telehealth.
Dr. Bellete’s expertise is in family therapy, particularly with neurodiverse, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ populations. She uses a range of therapeutic modalities including, Functional Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to treat families, children and adolescents, with internalizing and externalizing behavioral presenting concerns.
