About

Mary Coster, MSW, LCSW-C is the training manager of the Department of Social Work in the Center for Developmental Behavioral Health at Kennedy Krieger Institute.

Education

Ms. Coster earned her MSW from the University of Maryland with a concentration in families and children. She completed her advanced internship at Kennedy Krieger as a Leadership in Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) social work trainee. She began her professional career at Kennedy Krieger in 1993 in the lead poisoning prevention program. In 1996, her career took her across Europe and Asia, where she supported U.S. military families as both a social worker and program leader in early intervention services. While abroad, she directed child development programs on an Air Force base in Turkey. In 2003, Ms. Coster returned to Kennedy Krieger as the director of World of Care, Kennedy Krieger’s inclusive medical child care program. Over the years, she has held roles across multiple departments within the organization. In 2015, she became the training manager for the Department of Social Work and expanded the internship program to include both graduate and undergraduate students. Alongside her leadership role, she continues to work as a psychotherapist. 

Ms. Coster is dedicated to mentoring future social workers and supporting the growth of the profession, continuing to inspire excellence and lasting impact in the field.
