Dr. Phillips is a staff psychologist in the Child and Family Therapy Clinic at Kennedy Krieger Institute. Dr. Phillips joined the clinic in 2009 and has served both supervisory and clinical roles. Dr. Phillips sees patients at the clinic's Columbia, Maryland location and via telehealth services.
Education
Dr. Phillips received her Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Neuroscience from Washington College and continued her education at the American School of Professional Psychology, where she received her PsyD in Clinical Psychology, with a focus in children and family studies. Dr. Phillips completed her practicum training, doctoral internship, and postdoctoral fellowship at Kennedy Krieger Institute and The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Phillips is a licensed psychologist in the states of Maryland (2008) and Virginia (2020), and through the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT).
Dr. Phillips uses evidence-based approaches to treatment, including strategies consistent with Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Functional Family Therapy, to treat families, children, adolescents and young adults. She works with families and patients who experience a wide range of internalizing and externalizing concerns including anxiety, depression, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, tic disorders, school-based concerns, life stressors and transitions, and family conflict and divorce. Dr. Phillips is also trained in Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT).
