Dr. Jamila Ray is a staff psychologist at the Fairmount location of the Child and Family Therapy Clinic at Kennedy Krieger Institute. She also serves as a supervisor and co-director of the APA approved internship program at Kennedy Krieger’s Department of Behavioral Psychology.

Education

Dr. Ray received her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Rochester. She continued her education at Suffolk University where she received her PhD in clinical psychology. She completed her doctoral internship at Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care and her postdoctoral fellowship at Kennedy Krieger Institute and The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Dr. Ray has been licensed in the state of Maryland since 2018. She is also credentialed with the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT). 

Dr. Ray utilizes a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, to treat various internalizing and externalizing concerns. Dr. Ray believes that change occurs within the family context. Thus, Dr. Ray utilizes a family-based approach with all her patients to maximize treatment effectiveness. Dr. Ray also utilizes this framework with her trainees through both direct instruction and clinical supervision.
