All Kennedy Krieger Institute locations will be open for business as usual on Monday February 23, 2026.  The Nook (at 801 N. Broadway) will be open.

Please note:

  • Kennedy Krieger School Programs follow the Local School System in which the program is located for closings, delayed openings, or early dismissals due to inclement weather. (Fairmount, Greenspring – High School & LEAP all follow Baltimore City; Powder Mill Campus follows Prince George’s County; Southern Maryland Campus follows St. Mary’s County.)
  • Staff and parents should monitor local news media for announcements for these school systems; we also recommended that staff and parents go directly to the specific school system website for the most up-to-date and accurate information.
  • Please note that many school systems have a plan for pivoting to virtual instruction after a certain number of closure days; currently, Kennedy Krieger School Programs have no plans to pivot to virtual school days. If there are discrepancies between the school system’s plan and that of a KKS program, staff and families will be notified by Kennedy Krieger directly.
  • Early Childhood Development and Education Center will follow Baltimore County Schools status and follow protocol thereafter.
  • Southeast Early Head Start follows Baltimore City Schools status.  Employees report regardless of client status.
  • All Achievements programs and the Pre-K follow Kennedy Krieger openings/closures.

Monitor the MTA website for alerts about public transportation services.

For updates on closings and delays, please check local radio and TV stations or WBAL.com.
