The Community and Professional Development Training Program offered by the Maryland Center for Developmental Disabilities (MCDD) at Kennedy Krieger Institute is committed to providing evidence-based training across a broad spectrum of topics to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities and their families. MCDD’s 2025 Annual Learning Series runs from May to November. The series consists of three-hour continuing education virtual workshops (CEUs available) with interdisciplinary topics focused on working with individuals with intellectual, developmental and other disabilities and their families.
Six workshops in the series remain open for registration:
- July 21: “Discipline of Students With Disabilities and Updated Federal Guidance on School Discipline”
- July 23: “Practicing Humility and Building Stronger Connections Across Backgrounds: Applying the Family-as-Host Model for Responsive and Respectful Engagement”
- Sept. 17: “Promoting Positive Mental Health Outcomes for Youth: How School, Home and Community Members Can Help”
- Sept. 24: “Early Screening of Children for Developmental Delays: Strategies for Successful Outcomes”
- Oct. 8: “Suicidal Behaviors in People With Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities: Strategies for Successful Care”
- Nov. 5: “Self-Care, Work and Well-Being: Finding the Balance on Caring for Yourself While Caring for Others”
