Position Announcement

Nursing students in an approved Maryland Board of Nursing program seeking an associate, baccalaureate, or a master’s degree in nursing. Academic and clinical support is available for either a portion or an entire academic semester.

Description

The Nursing Department at Kennedy Krieger offers preceptorships in both our inpatient and outpatient settings. Clinical activities include providing nursing care to the pediatric population requiring rehabilitation for spinal cord injuries, brain and neurological disorders, severe feeding difficulties, and developmental delays. The Nursing Department requests that all schools of nursing wishing to utilize Kennedy Krieger for a clinical site develop a formal affiliation agreement.

Faculty

The nursing department will determine the best faculty match, taking into the consideration the academic needs of the nursing student and the clinical expertise of the Kennedy Krieger faculty person.

Training Opportunities

There are undergraduate and graduate training opportunities within the nursing department. Both opportunities involve the nursing student working one on one with either a baccalaureate prepared or a master’s prepared registered nurse preceptor. Clinical areas include but are not limited to: Pediatric Rehabilitation Inpatient setting, Pediatric Neurobehavioral Inpatient setting, Pediatric Inpatient Feeding Disorders setting, Pediatric Outpatient setting, and School-Based Programs. Guidance and support will be provided to the master’s nursing student working on scholarly projects.
