About
Kesley Ramsey, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist and researcher, with expertise in treating and conducting research on Tourette Disorder and chronic tic disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and related conditions, and anxiety disorders. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Kennedy Krieger Institute and the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She enjoys delivering evidence-based assessment and treatment services to children, adolescents, young adults and their families managing neuropsychiatric conditions at the Center for Developmental Behavioral Health at Kennedy Krieger Institute.
Education
Dr. Ramsey graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Psychology. She received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from The Catholic University of America with a concentration in Children, Families, and Cultures. Dr. Ramsey acquired extensive training in clinical treatment research of mental health conditions as a postdoctoral fellow at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Research Summary
Dr. Ramsey currently conducts clinical research at Kennedy Krieger Institute and the Johns Hopkins Center for OCD, Anxiety, and related disorders for Children (COACH). Her research centers on investigating the mechanisms that underlie the etiology, maintenance and treatment of neuropsychiatric conditions, with special interest in mindfulness and distress tolerance-based interventions. Dr. Ramsey has received national recognition for her innovative research, including the Tourette Association of America’s Young Investigator Award and the American Psychological Association’s Society for Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology (SCCAP; Division 53) Future Directions Launch Award.
