Referrals are made by doctors, parents, acute care discharge planners, or community providers to one of our nurse clinical care managers to help families navigate the admissions process for inpatient or outpatient care. We work quickly to gather medical and insurance information to review and to formulate a plan that is best for each child and family. Preadmission tours of the inpatient unit are welcome.

Referring an International Patient:
Kennedy Krieger staff coordinate all services, both medical and non-medical, needed by families who travel to Kennedy Krieger from outside the United States, before they depart and throughout their stay. Our experienced, multi-lingual staff is the primary liaison between you and the patient care team.
Services provided include:
- Coordination of medical screening and review of medical records
- Explanation of diagnosis and treatment options
- Coordination of appointment scheduling and follow-up
- Coordination of interpreter services
- Assistance with travel arrangements and accommodations
- Assistance with visa requirements
