Our highly-skilled and trained therapists treat children with neurological, orthopedic, medical, and developmental issues, as well as speech and language delays. Although we specialize in treating children, our team is dedicated to providing a lifetime of care to patients with complex physical rehabilitation needs. We offer:

Physical Therapy

The Physical Therapy Clinic at Kennedy Krieger Institute provides a full range of comprehensive and specialized physical therapy services to patients recovering from injuries and/or developmental disabilities.

Occupational Therapy

The Occupational Therapy (OT) Clinic at Kennedy Krieger provides evaluation and treatment to improve clients' fine motor skills, activities of daily living (including eating, dressing, hygiene, toileting and play activities), oral motor skills and adaptive seating needs.

Aquatic Therapy

The Aquatic Therapy Program is available to all patients, whether they are staying in our hospital or visiting for outpatient appointments. Although aquatic therapy is used for many diagnoses, it has proven particularly beneficial for patients with cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, spinal cord injuries, and developmental and neurological disorders.

Assistive Technology

At Kennedy Krieger's Assistive Technology Clinic, innovative technologies and the expertise of our specialists allow children and adults to enjoy many of the same activities as their peers.

Seating

Patients who struggle to move may need more than just a wheelchair. They may need specialized mobility equipment. The Seating Clinic at Kennedy Krieger Institute helps people with special needs find seating systems that optimize their mobility while ensuring safe and effective positioning, so they can participate fully in activities of daily living.

Speech and Language Outpatient Clinic

Through Kennedy Krieger's Speech-Language Department, speech and language pathologists (SLPs) offer assessments and treatment to children in the toddler through adolescent age range. Children seen at the clinic receive complete, in-depth speech language evaluations from a SLP, accompanied by a hearing screening offered by an audiologist.
