With the support of the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council, PACT offers a newly developed nurse consultation service designed to support Baltimore City and Baltimore County child care providers as they care for children with developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs.

Alongside a registered nurse and an expert child care teacher, this collaborative model provides on-site training sessions for:

  • Mealtime strategies for children with special diets or feeding tubes
  • Equipment training (orthotics, walkers, feeding pumps, medical monitors)
  • Recognizing and planning for sudden breathing problems in children
  • Emergency plan implementation (seizure and asthma action plans)

Since 1981, PACT: Helping Children with Special Needs promotes the development of young children with special needs and their families through specialized child care, early intervention services, family support, parent education and professional training. PACT, an affiliate of the Kennedy Krieger Institute, is licensed and accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education.
