Now in its eighth year, the Wine Walkabout is an annual don’t-miss charitable event hosted by the Women’s Initiative Network (WIN) for Kennedy Krieger Institute. Typically, WIN hosts this event at the acclaimed Caves Valley Golf Course, but this year, WIN is offering a virtual wine tasting with food pairings to be enjoyed from the comfort and safety of home. WIN is partnering with Linwoods and Peter Wood, managing partner at The French Paradox Wines, to provide delicious wines and an array of savory and sweet culinary delights. Peter will facilitate an informative and interactive experience, and guests will also have the opportunity to participate in an intriguing raffle.

Three winners will be randomly selected. Only 100 raffle tickets will be sold.

Don't miss out on the chance to win tickets to this year's premier golf event—the BMW Championship at Caves Valley Golf Club! First winner will receive four Trophy Club tickets valid for one day of the tournament, Thursday, August 25 - Sunday, August 29, valued at $500.

Second winner will receive a wine & cheese tasting from The French Paradox Wines for ten in the winner's home, valued at $250. Valid for Baltimore City and County, if outside of that area, wine will be shipped to winner for an online event.

Third winner will receive a delicious dinner for four, Curbside from Linwoods, valued at $200.

Proceeds from this year’s event will fund much-needed shade structures for the playgrounds at Kennedy Krieger School Programs’ Fairmount Campus, a nonpublic K-8 special education school that serves students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The school has two specially-designed playgrounds that provide sensory input and socialization, and using the playgrounds is a beloved school activity. But during the summer and early fall, it can be too hot for students to use the playgrounds, as many students have secondary health conditions that make exercising in hot weather difficult. Adding shade structures to the playgrounds will allow students to use the playgrounds for more weeks of the year.

The Wine Walkabout also supports the work of the Women’s Initiative Network, a volunteer organization dedicated to raising awareness of, and providing resources for, Kennedy Krieger and the children and families it serves.

Thank you to this year's co-chairs, Cynthia Cavanaugh, Aimee Fulchino and Shari Tompkins.
