About:

Xuhao Yang is the Senior Research Coordinator of The Office for Health, Equity, Inclusion and Diversity (O-HEID) at Kennedy Krieger Institute. Xuhao received his Bachelor of Science in Global Health from Wuhan University in China. Xuhao has a Master of Science in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. As a student at the Bloomberg School of Public Health, Xuhao focused on social and behavioral interventions.

Research:

Xuhao is interested in translating evidence-based practices into community health services and public health training programs. He has global health research experience in community medicine and school-based health surveys in several countries, including Zambia, Nepal, Thailand, and China. Xuhao assisted in several systematic review projects as a research assistant at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. His assistance supported the development of a WHO Guideline Development project on self-care/online interventions for sexual and reproductive health among key populations, and a systematic review and meta-analysis on needle/syringe exchange programs among people who inject drugs in low- and middle-income countries. He accomplished a qualitative evaluation of an HIV peer-mentoring program for adolescents and young adults in Zambia. He also worked with the HIV/HCV counseling and testing team in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
