Samantha R. Hutchison is a licensed professional counselor and Assistant Director for The Office of Health, Equity, Inclusion and Diversity (O-HEID) at Kennedy Krieger Institute.
Samantha R. Hutchison received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from American University and is a former MCHC-RISE Up Scholar with the Center for Diversity in Public Health Leadership. Samantha also received her Master’s of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The George Washington University, and her Master’s of Health Science in Mental Health from The Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health. She is a licensed professional counselor who specializes in child and adolescent mental health with an emphasis on depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and family systems within under resourced communities. Samantha has previously served as an adjunct instructor for the American University Office of Undergraduate Education teaching on diversity, equity, and inclusion focusing on racial identity development, structural racism, and cultural sensitivity. As the assistant director of the O-HEID, Samantha oversees the implementation, training, and evaluation of the health, equity, inclusion, and diversity program plans in coordination and collaboration with the Chief Diversity Officer, Dr. Harolyn M. E. Belcher.
