For the first time, funding for emergency respite services is available in Maryland. The funds were made possible by a grant received by the Maryland Department of Human Services through the federal Lifespan Respite Care Program.

Emergency respite care may be granted for an unplanned event that requires the unavoidable absence of the primary caregiver. The program serves caregivers throughout Maryland, across all ages and support needs.

Requests for emergency respite care may be made to the Elizabeth Cooney Personnel Agency, Inc., by contacting Elizabeth Weglein, CEO, at ew@elizabethcooneyagency.com or at 410-323-1700. Families may call to pre-register.
