A Message From Our Director:

"O-HEID is more than just an acronym. I chose O-HEID to remind us all to heed, to pay careful attention. It is also to paraphrase the words of the late Representative John Lewis, who reminded us to heed to our highest calling by standing up for what we truly believe. O-HEID is part of the solution to assure health and wellness for the children, youth, and families we care for at Kennedy Krieger.

The caring people who work at Kennedy Krieger make it a remarkable place with a history of advocacy, clinical care, training, and education that includes equity and inclusion for individuals with disabilities. The goal of O-HEID is to expand on that legacy by being proactively anti-racist and culturally responsive to individual needs, and to strengthen the environment of work, education, and care that will foster the health, wellness, and abilities of all.” – Harolyn M.E. Belcher, MD, MHS
