Meet Marcel, a patient with a spinal cord injury from New Jersey.
Marcel was born with Down syndrome and was diagnosed with transverse myelitis after becoming paralyzed from the waist down. Marcel received interdisciplinary care as an inpatient, and eventually transitioned to our outpatient therapy program. Marcel has made incredible progress through the Institute’s activity-based restorative therapy program, and is now able to stand on his own and walk with assistance.
With more than 20 locations throughout Maryland, Kennedy Krieger Institute, a nonprofit organization, has provided specialized research, education and healthcare services to children and families for more than 80 years.
Please take a few moments to make a donation to support the work that helps kids like Marcel and their families.
