Learning Concerns & Symptoms

Learning concerns, most evident in educational settings, include problems such as difficulty with specific subjects, difficulty organizing and completing assignments, difficulty comprehending, certain behavioral problems, and often result in academic underachievement or failure in school. Concerns about a child's learning usually arise in school-age children, although sometimes in children at younger ages. Learning concerns can be addressed through Kennedy Krieger's special education services as well as through consultation with neurodevelopmental pediatricians, psychologists and other specialists who have experience in evaluating children with learning difficulties.
