The Diagnostic Intake Clinic, staffed by licensed psychologists and professional counselors, is a consultative service offering an initial impression of child's functioning and needs. The clinic gathers information from caregivers, schools and other professionals, which helps determine whether psychological or other services are needed. The clinic also helps secure insurance coverage for psychological assessment by completing insurance preauthorization requests as needed. It is set up to make referrals to other Kennedy Krieger Institute Clinics as indicated.
