The Pediatric Neuropsychology Clinic applies the scientific study of brain-behavior relationships to the care of children with known or suspected dysfunction of their brain or central nervous system. It is staffed by licensed psychologists with specialty training in neuropsychology, psychology associates and trainees under supervision. Children seen through the clinic may have a history of abnormal brain growth/development, a genetic syndrome, acquired injury or other medical condition affecting their functioning. Abnormal brain functioning may be reflected in problems with thinking, behavior or emotions, and may contribute to difficulties at home, in school and with peers. Services provided by the clinic are typically considered medical diagnostic test procedures, covered under the medical rather than the mental health provisions of most insurance policies
