The utilization and efficacy of physical therapy services for individuals with Osteogenesis Imperfecta

Principal Investigator:
Jay
Shapiro

This study is being performed to determine how physical therapy services are being used by individuals with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) and the efficacy of these services for individuals with Osteogenesis Imperfecta. The research study involves completion of a survey about OI and physical therapy. Individuals with OI who attend the KKI OI clinic or who are on the OI Registry and have consented to being contacted for future studies will be invited to participate through a recruitment letter.

In addition, for individuals who visit the OI Foundation and KKI OI websites, a summary of the research will be posted on the main OI Foundation website (with a link to the current studies page of the website) and on the current studies page of the OI Foundation website, with a link to the recruitment flyer. The overall plan is to use the information gained through the survey, to guide physical therapists in their treatment of individuals with OI to better meet the needs of individuals with OI.
