Neural markers of concussion and recovery
The goals of this study are to collect preliminary data on neural biomarkers with promise for identifying concussion and predicting and evaluating recovery from concussion in teenagers. We will acquire neuroimaging, neuropsychological, and quantitative sensory data. We will study up to 75 children with concussion twice, once within one week post-injury and once one month post-injury, with the goal of having usable data from 25 children with concussion whose symptoms have resolved 1 month post-injury and 25 children with concussion whose symptoms persist 1 month post-injury. We will study up to 25 typically developing control children once for comparison purposes.
