Effects of training on caregiver implementation of behavior-analytic skills

Principal Investigator:
Jennifer
Zarcone

This small N study will examine additional effects of our standard of care for caregiver training on the implementation of specific skills with children with severe problem behavior. These skills will be part of their child's treatment plan. A multiple baseline across behaviors will be used to demonstrate experimental control or the possibility of generalization to new skills. We hypothesize that once caregivers have been trained in certain core skills, that generalization to new skills will occur more quickly with fewer training trials. Maintenance of these skills over time will also be evaluated. Our standard of care is to provide training, but this study will go beyond the standard of care to include an incentive program for the maintenance of skills. In addition, results of this study will be disseminated to a master's thesis committee for review with the potential for publication.
