Research Program

Research. Restoration. Recovery.

The International Center for Spinal Cord Injury (ICSCI) basic science research and clinical research teams investigate the basis of normal function, paralysis and dysfunction, and how to address the needs of the spinal-cord-injured population. This dynamic research program benefits from the close proximity of the Center's research labs and the therapy gym which allows our scientists and patients to meet and understand that we share common goals of recovery.

Our research teams utilize collaborative, integrated approaches in our investigation of potential targets for therapy which include the study of biomedical engineering, epigenetics, induced pluripotent stem cells, activity-based restorative therapy, and myelination.
