From NASCAR to shopping to meeting sport stars, event offers somethingfor everyone

Baltimore - Filled with entertainment, shopping, quality time with sports stars, crafts for the kids, a Busch Series NASCAR and the most imaginatively decorated trees around town, the Festival of Trees is sure complete your holiday weekend!

The 15th annual Festival of Trees kicks off Thanksgiving weekend at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium. This year, Ravens' Kicker Matt Stover and Orioles' Outfielder B.J. Surhoff will headline the children's book reading at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26. Come to Festival of Trees and pretend to drive a real NASCAR; professional pictures will be taken on Saturday afternoon. Children can also enjoy the excitement of the expanded Kids Zone with new crafts, games and activities.

Of course, Festival of Trees would not be complete without the more than 300 beautifully decorated trees, wreaths and gingerbread houses designed by local artists, businesses and community groups, plus holiday crafts shopping, amazing items up for grabs at the silent auction, hourly live entertainment and, of course, Santa! Awards will be given to the top designers in various categories, and trees, wreaths and gingerbread houses will be sold to benefit the research, treatment and education programs at Kennedy Krieger Institute.
