Annual fundraiser returns for a three-day holiday extravaganza

TIMONIUM, MD - Join us in kicking off the holiday season by welcoming Santa Claus to our winter wonderland at this year’s annual Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Festival of Trees! The East Coast’s largest holiday-themed festival will return to the Maryland State Fairgrounds from Friday, November 25 to Sunday, November 27, with decorated trees, a gingerbread town, shopping, endless holiday activities and non-stop entertainment for children of all ages!

New this year, guests will be able to enjoy a delicious breakfast with Santa himself on Sunday, November 27 from 8 a.m. - 10 a.m. Breakfast with Santa guests will have the chance to meet and talk with the big man in red, enjoy their breakfast and have a jolly good ‘ole time exploring Festival before it opens to the general public!

The Festival of Trees’ winter wonderland will feature more than 700 community-crafted trees, wreaths and gingerbread houses designed by local artists, corporations and schools. While wandering through the holiday spectacular, festivalgoers will enjoy live hourly entertainment and a visit to SantaLand, Santa’s ultimate theme park complete with “reindeer” pony rides, carousel rides, carnival games, train rides, a remote control car racetrack and more! And, with more than 100 gift boutiques and a silent auction, Festival of Trees is a one-stop-shop to mark off everything on your holiday gift list.

Attendees and Institute supporters can also start their own online Happy Holidays Fundraising page to raise money for Kennedy Krieger. For every $10 raised to help the children and families of the Institute, supporters will receive one free ticket to Festival of Trees.

The raffle at this year’s Festival of Trees features $2,500 in Visa gift cards. Raffle tickets can be purchased for $2 at the event or online at http://www.festivaloftrees.kennedykrieger.org.

Proceeds from Festival of Trees, presented by BB&T, directly benefit Kennedy Krieger Institute, appropriately marking the beginning of the holiday season by giving the gift of hope to the thousands of children treated at the Institute each year.
