May 30, 2015, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

Kennedy Krieger Institute Center for Autism (Odenton Location)
1130 Annapolis Road
Odenton, MD 21113

Come join us for our two part IEP mini-series! Trainings will be held on May 16, 2015 and May 30, 2015 from 10 AM to 12 PM.

Participants must attend both training sessions.

These FREE trainings are designed for parents of children in special education who would like to gain a better understanding of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process in order to participate more effectively and make informed decisions during the development of their child's IEP. These workshops offer parents an in-depth look at the two components required for developing an appropriate IEP: the IEP meeting(s) and the IEP documment.

Attendees will:

  • Understand the IEP process
  • Be familiar with the steps involved in completing the IEP document
  • Develop a better understanding of their role in the IEP process
  • Learn how to be an effective IEP team member

Please bring a copy of your child's IEP with you to the training. Parents will be given "homework" to complete in between the two sessions.

Presenter: Eva Queen, Parents' Place of MD LEADer

This presentation is for parents, family members and professionals. The training is free but registration is required to attend.
