About the Event

The Run for ALD was organized by John J. Kane, Esquire, the former managing partner of the Philadelphia maritime and labor law firm of Freedman and Lorry, P.C, after he was diagnosed with the disease in 2001. Despite Jack’s death from ALD in 2003, the Run has continued through the efforts of family and friends, including Jack's daughter, Taylor, who has been a tireless advocate in continuing her father's effort to raise awareness of ALD. (To join "Taylor's Team" of junior volunteers, see the right sidebar.) 100% of the proceeds of the Run are dedicated to finding a cure for ALD.

All of the proceeds of the Run For ALD will benefit the Kennedy Krieger Institute, a non-profit hospital dedicated to treating, preventing and ultimately curing ALD and other neurogenetic diseases. All funds donated to Kennedy Krieger Institute will be earmarked for adrenoleukodystrophy research.

5K Walk/Run - 10:00 a.m.

1 Mile Walk - 9:30 a.m.
