MCDD Welcomes Mat Rice

Mat Rice Hire
Mat Rice (R) speaks about the Subminium Wage Bill with Senator Reilly at the State House in Annapolis.

The MCDD welcomes Mat Rice as a public policy advocate serving with People On the Go of Maryland. Mat is a self-advocate who has been very active in People On the Go for several years. He previously served as a consultant on legislative matters, delivering oral testimony in Annapolis, and educating elected officials about self-advocacy issues. He will continue this important work as an official employee of the MCDD.

“Mat was instrumental in the passage of the Ken Capone Equal Employment Act,” said Chris Smith, PhD, director of the MCDD. “By bringing him on board through our partnership with the Developmental Disabilities Council, People On the Go will have greater capacity to expand their work around the state.”
