About the MCDD

MCDD Newsletter 2016: Issue One >

The Maryland Center for Developmental Disabilities at Kennedy Krieger Institute links the community to vital research and information to improve the lives of people with disabilities. Our mission is to provide leadership that advances inclusion for people with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities. The Center is one of a national network of University Centers for Excellence funded by the Administration on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

We work in partnership with a Community Advisory Council, advisers who represent the voice of the disability community, advising and supporting the Center in meeting its responsibilities to the citizens of Maryland in accordance with the DD Act. The Council is led by CAC chair and vice chair:

Elizabeth Benevides
Hussman Foundation

Marnie Greenspoon

Other CAC members represent people with disabilities, self-advocates, a variety of state agencies, and family members of people with disabilities. Member terms are for a period of two years.
