Public Input Required as State Transitions to Home and Community-Based Services
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued a tool kit to assist states in developing a Statewide Transition Plan that describes how states plan to comply with new regulations that define a community setting under Medicaid-funded Home & Community Based-Services (HCBS) released by CMS earlier this year. CMS requires that states solicit and document public input from a wide range of stakeholders in the development of the Statewide Transition Plan. Transition Plans are due to CMS by March 16, 2015, and states must allow no less than a 30-day period for public input.
