Recruits will be trained to safely manage situations involving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Read more 

Court Orders State to Offer Online Ballot-Marking Tool in General Election

A judge ruled in favor of the National Federation for the Blind who requested that the court order the Maryland State Elections Board make the online ballot-marking tool available to them in the 2014 Maryland general election. Read more 

Public Input Required as State Transitions to Home and Community-Based Services

CMS requires that states solicit and document public input from a wide range of stakeholders in the development of the Statewide Transition Plan. Read more

New Partnership with Maryland Centers for Independent Living Launches

MCDD launched a new project in partnership with the Maryland Department of Disabilities to assist community agencies in expanding their business capacity. Read more 

Fellows Trained to Advance Leadership in Special Education

The Center for Innovation and Leadership in Special Education (CILSE) welcomes three fellows this year: Carrie Schiel, Lauren Taylor, and Alicia Woolf. Each has extensive experience working in public and private schools with individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities. Read more
