Brightside - Down Syndrome Mentoring Program

(Baltimore, MD) – Lace up your sneakers and race to the finish line with Northrop Grumman and Kennedy Krieger Institute on Sunday, September 30th for the 26^th Annual BWI Run/Walk. Northrop Grumman and Kennedy Krieger Institute will once again partner together to host the annual event, which raises money for Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Down Syndrome Clinic. The family-friendly event welcomes runners and walkers of all ages and abilities to participate in the four-mile run and two-mile family walk.

Every month, I meet my best friends for dinner where we get to catch up with each other. Then we go to Circle of Friends, a part of Kennedy Krieger's Brightside mentoring program, where we learn about friendship and how to socialize with other people. I am 25 years old, and I have Down syndrome, which means that I was born with 22 chromosomes instead of 21.
