Children and families throughout the country are experiencing trauma at an alarming rate. Examples include exposure to violence, abuse, natural disasters, severe illness or injury and traumatic loss of loved ones. Knowledge and awareness regarding the impact of childhood trauma continues to increase due to efforts like the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN).
